Careful what you ask for. I did in fact complain about a lack of rain in my last discourse, so you can blame me if your basement is flooded. Whoever’s controlling the weather up there has a real sense of humor. In the preceding 2 months and 23 days, we got a total of 4.6″ of rain (and that’s Worcester’s totals – I bet we got half that). From Tuesday-Thursday, we got 4.5″ of rain. Oh, and there’s 2.5″ more on the way Sunday. Ha, real funny mother nature!
There’s so much going on this week you absolutely need to know about that you’ll have to wait a week for more biting commentary.
–Seasonal Cooking Classes! Friend, food writer, and chef extraordinaire Tori, a local food writer, is hosting a series of seasonal cooking classes at the Grafton Rec Center and the next one is November 7th. The topic fittingly is Thanksgiving sides. Check out more here.
–Potter Hill fruit? It’s true, we’ll be selling some apples from our backyard trees. Never sprayed so they sure ain’t pretty, but they taste great.
-You know what goes well with apples? Cheeeeese is back in stock for this week. They’ve added two flavors – pumpkin spice and maple – to their popular Adelisca cheese (a spreadable cheese enjoyed every morning by the Grady family on their eggs and greens). They recommend the aged raw-milk cheese Karolina would go best with apples.
–Flower bouquets are also back. April’s been making some incredible bouquets lately so we decided to make them available for sale again. I won’t give away her secret recipe, but it will smell and look fantastic!
-Get the caramel apples before they’re gone – Anna Banana’s has some crazy caramel creations but only for the next 2 weeks.
